Types of EV Chargers
India is changing and we are seeing a great push towards green mobility. The government is incentivising people to switch to electric vehicles and we are anticipating a surge to around 50 million EVs on the Indian roads by 2030. Today EV manufacturers are providing cable chargers with the cars but these are slow chargers and it takes approximately 8-12 hours to fully charge the cars. In order to address the need for faster charging at home we now have a range of AC chargers of higher capacity ranging from 7.5KW to 22 KW that help charge at home in 4-6 hours. DC chargers ranging from 30KW to 240KW have been launched to address range anxiety in public places on the highways and within the cities.
AC Charger
These are Alternating Current (AC) chargers, the most common type of electric vehicle charging. AC charging uses standard electrical connections typically found in homes and most businesses.
- Lower upfront equipment cost
- Commonly available at homes
- Simpler installation and upkeep
- Gentler on battery health
DC Charger
Direct Current (DC) charging is faster and more efficient than Alternating Current (AC) charging, which is why rapid chargers use DC.
- Significantly reduces charging time
- High power for rapid top-ups
- Ideal for long-distance travel
- Better for quick battery recovery
Charging Point Operations (CPO)
Is an E-Mobility industry player that builds EV charging sites, installs hardware from a variety of electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) vendors, and ensures optimal ongoing EV charging operations. A Charge Point Operator (CPO) is responsible for the physical operation and maintenance of the charging infrastructure. This includes ensuring user safety, promptly reporting issues, performing routine maintenance, and collaborating with other teams to provide a reliable and efficient charging service.
LIGHTHOUSE ENERGIES is inviting entrepreneurs, investors, HNIs to explore this new investment vehicle. We take care of the entire end-to-end process from sourcing locations to commissioning of the EV charger and managing the CMS platform. Earn attractive ROI on your investment in a CPO.
CMS (Charging Management System or Software)
A Charging Management System or Software (CMS) is a centralized management tool which helps optimize the efficiency of all EV charge points from one central hub. It provides historical & real-time data of each charging point and the charging network as a whole. This information helps CPOs to monitor and manage their network of EV charging stations.
- Real-time monitoring of all charging stations
- Remote troubleshooting and diagnostics
- Usage analytics and reporting
- Payment processing and billing
- User authentication and access control
